Example2 Magnetic Field Created by Bar Magnet and Magnetic Material

General

  • The magnetic field created by a ferrite bar magnet and magnetic material is analyzed.

  • The vectors of the magnetic field and the magnetic flux density are solved.

Model

Magnetic material is placed on top of a ferrite bar magnet which was created in the Exercise 1.

The magnetizing direction of the ferrite magnet is +Z by default.

That means the top of the magnet is the north magnet pole and the bottom is the south magnet pole.

Results

The vectors of the magnetic field in the air are shown below. The magnetic field of the magnet and the magnetic material is hidden.

The vectors of the magnetic field in the magnet and magnetic material are shown below. The magnetic field in the in the air is hidden.

At the magnet poles, the directions of the magnetic field are reversed for the inside and the outside of the magnet.

The magnetic field in the iron is quite small.

The vectors of the magnetic flux density are shown below.

Inside the magnet, the directions of the magnetic flux are the reversal of those of the magnetic field.

The flux density is high in the magnetic material.
