Chamfer

Chamfer the selected edge topologies.
 

  • If face topologies of solid bodies are selected, all of their edge topologies are chamfered.
     

  • If solid bodies are selected, all of their edge topologies are chamfered.
     

  • Vertices cannot be chamfered.
     

  • It is invalid to select edges and faces at a time for chamfering.

 

Procedure

There are 3 methods to chamfer.

  • Method 1 / Chamfer (isosceles)

  • Method 2 / Chamfer (scalene)

  • Method 3 / Chamfer (angle)

Method 1 / Chamfer (isosceles)

  1. On the [Model] tab, go to



    and click [Select Edge] on the drop-down list at .
     

 

  1. On the [Model] tab, go to

    ,

    and click ▼ at the side of [Fillet] . Select [Chamfer [Isosceles]] on the submenu.

    (Alternatively, right click the mouse. On the appearing menu, select     [Deform]-[Chamfer]-[Chamfer [isosceles]])
     

 

  1. Select the edge topologies to chamfer.

  1. Click in the parameter input dialog box.
     

 

  1. Enter the distance in the parameter input dialog box, and click .

    (Alternatively click and set the     distance on the modeling window.)
     

 

 

 

Method 2 / Chamfer (scalene)

  1. On the [Model] tab



    click [Select Edge] on the drop-down list at .
     

 

  1. On the [Model] tab, go to

    ,

    and click ▼ at the side of [Fillet] . Select [Chamfer [Scalene]] on the submenu.

    (Alternatively, right click the mouse. On the appearing menu, select     [Modify]-[Chamfer]-[Chamfer [scalene]])
     

 

  1. Select the edge topologies to chamfer.

  1. Click in the parameter input dialog box.

  1. Enter the 1st distance in the parameter input dialog box, and click .

    (Alternatively, click and set the     distance on the modeling window.)
     

  2. There will be a preview when the distance is entered.
     

  3. The side to enter the distance will be indicated by an arrow.

     

  1. Enter the 2nd distance in the parameter input dialog box, and click .

    (Alternatively, click and set the     distance on the modeling window.)
     

  2. The side to enter the distance will be indicated by an arrow.

 

Method 3

  1. On the [Model] tab



    click [Select Edge] on the drop-down list at .
     

 

  1. On the [Model] tab, go to

    ,

    and click ▼ at the side of [Fillet] . Select [Chamfer [Angle]] on the submenu.

    (Alternatively, right click the mouse. On the appearing menu, select     [Chamfer]-[Chamfer [angle]])
     

 

  1. Select the edge topologies to chamfer.

  1. Click in the parameter input dialog box.

  1. Enter the distance in the parameter input dialog box, and click .

    (Alternatively, click and set the     distance on the modeling window.)
     

  2. There will be a preview when the distance is entered.
     

  3. The side to enter the distance will be indicated by an arrow.
     

  • The direction can be changed by selecting "Change direction".

 

  1. Enter the angle in the parameter input dialog box, and click .

    (Alternatively, click and set the     angle on the modeling window.)
     

  2. The unit of angle is [ ° ]
