Acoustic Characteristics of A Speker Unit

GemeralIn speaker unit design, it is important to understand the frequency response of the sound pressure level, directivity, and the sound field distribution around the unit. This example analyzes a dynamic speaker structure to evaluate its frequency response, including the mechanical resonance frequency F0, sound pressure distribution, and directivity. It also presents an example of visualizing unwanted vibration modes caused by structural vibration.
Analysis ModelThe analysis model is an axisymmetric model representing a typical dynamic speaker structure. The baffle separates the sound waves radiated from the front and rear of the speaker. By analyzing the sound waves radiated into the surrounding air domain, the evaluation environment is reproduced.
ResultThe analysis results allow the sound pressure level frequency response, including the speaker’s mechanical resonance frequency F0, to be evaluated. In addition, sound pressure contour plots and directivity graphs can be used to evaluate the sound field distribution around the speaker unit and differences in radiation direction. Visualization of structural vibration can also be used to identify unwanted vibration modes.
