Joint Load Boundary

To have the effective load between the two joint load boundaries, the load value must be set.

To pair the joint load boundaries, proceed as follows.

It is assumed that the joint load conditions JL1 and LJ2 are set to the different topologies.

Spring Boundary Pair Setting (Menu)
  1. On the [Model] tab, go to

    and click [Boundary Pair] .

    • It is selectable only when a project is open.

  1. [Boundary Pair] dialog box will show up.

How to Change the Spring Connection Boundary Pair (from Project Tree)
  1. Select [Project] tab on the Project Tree, and double click [Pairing Setting (Contact/Joint Load/Spring)] in the [Boundary Condition].

  1. [Boundary Pair] dialog box will show up.

Notes

List of Boundary Conditions

From the boundary conditions registered in the database,

the list of those for the boundary pair will appear.

Double click one. The [Edit Boundary Condition] dialog box will show up.

To remove it from the list, press the [Delete] button.

List of Pairs

The registered pairs will be listed here. Double click one.

The [Edit Boundary Pair] dialog box will show up and you can edit the data.

(For the joint load, its value can be edited.)

To remove it from the list, press the [Delete] button.

Add

Selects the boundary conditions to pair up in the list.

By pressing the Add button, the Edit Boundary Pair dialog will show up. The OK button completes the pairing.

Delete

Deletes the boundary conditions from each list.

Edit

Sets the joint load value.

Notes

Joint Load

If the value of the joint load is positive,

attractive force is taken into account.

If the value is negative, repulsive force

is taken into account.

In the nonlinear analysis, the load direction changes

in relation to the position of the pair.

Free

Constrain except axial direction

・Free: Analyze only with the load applied to the specified portion.

・Constrain except axial direction: Constrain directions except the axial direction that

aligns with the direction of the line connecting the gravity points of a pair of figures,

to achieve the same constraint as fixed by a bolt. Note that stresses in such areas where this option is applied

may be calculated larger than without this option.

In such cases, carefully check the results.

Time Dependency and Weight Function

Selectable in the static-step analysis and the transient analysis.

the time dependency of the joint load can be set.
