Example 25: Force between Magnet and Electromagnet (Axisymmetric Analysis)

  

General

  • This example solves Example 7 with the axisymmetric analysis.
    The number of meshes is much less with axisymmetric models, so the simulation time is shorter.
     

  • The electromagnetic force, the current density, and the vectors of magnetic field and the magnetic flux density are solved.
     

  • Unless specified in the list below, the default conditions will be applied.
     

  • Obtain this session's project file. (Right-click and choose 'Save link as')


  • Results will vary depending on Femtet version and the PC environment.

Model

A cylindrical magnet is placed on top of the iron core (Fe) of the electromagnet.

 

Mesh size is set at 1 [mm] as the magnetic field changes drastically between the magnets.

The two magnets are pulling each other with the approximate force of 1.2 [N] in the Z direction.
