S/Y-Parameters

On the [Results] tab, go to , click ▼ at the side of [Chart] .

For an electromagnetic analysis, select [S/Y-Parameters] on the submenu to activate the graphing tool Descartes. The graph of the frequency response of the S-parameters will be drawn.

To convert to the impedance and the admittance, select Y_Para (admittance) or Z_Para (impedance) for SYZ parameter type in the graph properties.

However, the parameter type cannot be changed if the reference impedance is zero in the graph properties.

In the case of one port, the reference impedance is other than zero, and the conversion to the impedance and the admittance is possible.

In the case of more than one port, if the reference impedance is specified for each port and all the reference impedances match, the conversion to the impedance and the admittance is possible.

 

In the piezoelectric analysis, if a harmonic analysis is executed, Y- or Z-parameters are drawn. The choice of admittance (Y) or impedance (Z) is available on the piezoelectric analysis tab for analysis condition.

You can also change the choice after drawing. Select Y_Para (admittance) or Z_Para (impedance) for SYZ parameter type in the graph properties.
