The Concept of Body and Topology
You need to understand the concept of body and topology for the modeling.
The model consists of bodies.
There are 4 types of bodies.

Examples |
Notes |
|
Vertex body |
|
It is a body of point. |
|
Wire body |
|
It is a body consisting of lines and/or curves. The perimeter of a circle is a wire body, too. |
|
Sheet body |
|
It is a body having the area, e.g. rectangles, polygons, circles, etc. |
|
Solid body |
|
It is a body having the volume, e.g. cubes, polyhedrons, spheres, cylinders, etc. |
Topologies constitute a body.
For example, a cubic solid body has 6 face topologies.

There are 3 types of topologies.
-
Vertex topology
-
Edge topology
-
Face topology
The body and the topology are different as explained below.
