Calculation of Propagation Speed

In the electromagnetic harmonic analysis, the propagation time and speed of the electromagnetic waves required for the TDR analysis and transient analysis are calculated.

Setting Item

Notes

Relative Permittivity

Sets the relative permittivity.

Relative Permeability

Sets the relative permeability.

Frequency

Sets the frequency of the electromagnetic wave.

Propagation Distance

Sets the propagation distance.

Output Item

Notes

Propagation Speed

Outputs the propagation speed.

The propagation speed c[m/s] calculated with relative permittivity ε and relative permeability μ as below.

c = (ε×μ)-0.5

Propagation Time

Outputs the propagation time.

The propagation time is given by propagation distance divided by propagation speed.

Wavelength

Outputs the wavelength.

The wavelength is given by the propagation speed divided by frequency.
