Integration on Results Window

The currently displayed results for the selected bodies or topologies can be integrated as described on [Right-click Menu for Results Window].

The object could be edge, face or body. The edge integration, the surface integration, or the body integration is performed respectively.

The field component values currently on display are integrated.

In the axisymmetric analysis, the results where the circumferential direction are "ignored" and "taken into account" are obtained at the same time.

When the circumferential direction is ignored, the line integral and the surface integral are output for the edge and the face respectively.

When the circumferential direction is taken into account, the integration is executed by multiplying by 2πr. Surface integral and volume integral are output for the edge and face respectively.

The possible combinations and the outputs are listed below.

Scalar Values

Vector Values

Tensor Values

Edge Integral

(when edges are selected)

All values are integrated.

The tangent components are integrated.

(For the face elements in the 2D analysis, the normal components can be integrated)

Only the stress is supported.

The tangent components are integrated.

(For the face elements in the 2D analysis, the normal components can be integrated)

Face Integral

(when faces are selected)

All values are integrated.

The normal components are integrated.

Only the stress is supported.

The normal components are integrated.

Volume Integral

(when bodies are selected)

All values are integrated.

Integration is not executable.

Listed below are some examples of [Field] and [Component] combination.

[Field] and [Component] can be specified on the [Results] tab.

Ex.1) Vector values

Ex.2) Scalar values

Displacement is vector but X component is scalar.

Ex.3) Tensor values

Ex.4) Scalar values

Stress is tensor but Maximum principal stress is scalar.

  • For the sheet body integration, the thickness is considered.

  • If you want to integrate with your own function, please use Macro.
For the details, please refer to Macro Help.
    There are some examples.
Macro Help will be activated by selecting Windows [Start] menu Femtet -> [Macro Function] -> [Macro Help].
