Plating Wall

Set the plating boundary. Select "Perform the plating analysis" on the analysis condition setting.
Then select Plating wall on Electric tab of the [Edit Boundary Condition] dialog box.

Setting Item

Notes

Electrode Setting

As a type of plating electrode, select either anode or cathode.

If "Calculate the plating thickness" on Electric Analysis tab of Analysis condition is selected,
plating extraction on the face of plating wall of cathode is taken into account.

Extracted Metal Setting

If "Calculate the plating thickness" on Electric Analysis tab of Analysis condition is selected,
and cathode is selected for the type of electrode of plating wall, extracted metal setting can be done.
In this setting, the following 4 parameters are set.

  • Electric conductivity

  • Electrochemical equivalent

  • Density

  • Extraction efficiency

Overvoltage Type

Sets the approximation method of the overvoltage curve.

By selecting either Linear or Tafel's Law for the type of overvoltage,
parameters required for approximation of overvoltage can be set.
When Nonlinear is selected for the type of overvoltage,
overvoltage curve can be specified by entering values in the current density-overvoltage table.

Overvoltage Type

Approximate Expression (η: overvoltage[V], J: current density[A/m2])

Setting Parameter

Linear

η = a1 + a2 |J|

a1,a2

Nonlinear

η = f(|J|)

ηi,Ji (i = 0, 1, ... )

Tafel's Law

η = a1 + a2 log10 |J|

a1,a2

Plating Condition

Sets the plating condition if Anode is selected in the Electrode Setting.

If Current is selected in the plating conditon, analysis is performed when the set current flows into the analysis domain from the face of plating wall.
Enter the value of current in the text box in the Plating condition.

If Electric Potential is selected in the plating condition, the voltage on the face of plating wall can be specified.
The reference electric potential of 0V is set on the face of plating wall of cathode.
Enter the value of electric potential in the text box in the Plating condition.
