How to Cope with Unexpected Results in Electromagnetic Analysis
Check the following when the unexpected results are obtained in the 3D harmonic electromagnetic analysis.
1. Check the shape and size of the model.
2. Check the boundary conditions.
Check the boundary conditions with the meshes and the results shown. Femtet removes the overlapping from the model before the calculation,
when some boundary conditions might be lost.
3. Check the material properties.
4. Check the modes applied at the ports.

5. Select "Discrete sweep" and see the analysis results at the low frequency.
For example, try the low frequency which has the wavelength of roughly 100 times the size of the analysis model.
If the results are incorrect at low frequency, the model itself is likely to have a problem. If the results are incorrect only at high frequency, the analysis conditions such as mesh setting might have a problem.
Femtet can't deal with the analysis with too high and too low frequency.
6. Check the meshing conditions.
The adaptive mesh might have been deselected or other options to degrade the simulation accuracy might have been selected. These settings are effective in shortening the calculation time or avoiding some errors.
However, if the adaptive mesh is deselected, it often gives the incorrect results.
The first 3 items are common with other analyses in Femtet. They need to be confirmed when the results are incorrect.
