New Project

Opens a new project.

Open Project

Opens an existing project file (.femprj).

Save Project

Save the current project. (File extension: femprj)

The model and the results are saved.

Functions as [Save As] for a new project.

In case that the History is modified, [Apply Edit] or [Cancel Edit] before saving.

Save Project As

Save the current project as. (File extension: femprj)

The model and the results are saved.

In case that the History is modified, [Apply Edit] or [Cancel Edit] before saving.

Save Model Currently on Display Without History (Reduce File Size).

Save the model currently on the display without its history.

The current project will be saved without history data to make the file size smaller. (File extension: femprj)

Undo, Edit history and Output macros are not possible once this command is executed.

Save All Models Without History (Reduce File Size)

Save all models of the project without their history.

Close

Closes the current project.

You will be asked whether you want to save the changes you made to the project.

Recent Projects

Indicates 5 recent projects.

Select the one you want to open.
 

Open Results Folder

Opens the results folder for the current project with Windows Explorer.

Not executable unless a project is open.
 

Import CAD Data

Reads Parasolid data file (.x_t or .x_b) or AutoCAD data file (.dxf).

Export CAD Data

Writes Parasolid data file (.x_t or .x_b).

See [Export Dialog] for more information.

Open Results

Opens the mesh/results file (.pdt).

Can be used to open the results only.

Save Results

Saves the mesh/results file (.pdt).

Can be used to save the results only.

Recent Results

Indicates 5 recent results.

Select the one you want to open.

Open Old-Version Project (.als)

Opens a project file of Version 2013.2 or older (.als).

The associated model file (.gmd) will be opened as well.

If dissociated, open it by [Open Old-Version Model (.gmd)].

Open Old-Version Model (.gmd)

Opens a model file of Version 2013.2 or older (.gmd).

Open Old-Version Results (.pdt)

Opens a results file of Version 2013.2 or older. (.pdt).

Output Macros

The operations for the current model are saved in a VB macro file (.bas) or Python script file (.py).

Macros cannot be output while the history is being edited. Re-execute the history before the saving.

• To output the Python script file, [EnableMacros] must be set beforehand.
  Go to [Macro Help Home] > [Preparation for Macro Operation] > [Enable Macros] for the details.

• For old project files, the output Python script may include a function that causes an error.
  In that case, modify the function causing the issue to the function listed in the macro help.
  
  Example: manually modify 'MultiSweep' to 'MultiSweep2_py'.

Message will show up according to the results.

• Right-click the ribbon command of your wish to register in the quick access toolbar.

Shows Femtet Version and Copyrights.

Exit

Exits from Femtet.
