How to Calculate Flow Rate and Pressure Loss at the Specified Cross Section

How to obtain flow rate at the specified cross section

If the boundary condition is specified by flow such as inflow or outflow, the volumetric flow rate is obtained from the result table.

See [Result Table in the Fluid Analysis for the details.

Another way to obtain the flow rate at the specified cross section is as shown below.

・Display flow velocity vectors (Field: flow velocity [m/s], Component: vector x/y/z). Vector Diagram

・Display the cross section. Cross Section

・Select a specified cross section and select integral on the right-click menu.

How to obtain pressure loss between the specified cross sections

If the boundary condition is specified by flow such as inflow or outflow, the pressure loss between the two specified boundary conditions is obtained.

See Result Table in the Fluid Analysis for the details.

Another way to obtain the pressure loss between the specified cross sections is as shown below.

Display the contour of pressure (total pressure) (Field: pressure(total pressure) [Pa], component: value). Gradation Contour

・Display the cross section. Cross Section

・Select a specified cross section and select [Weighted Average Value of Flow Rate] on the right-click menu.

・The pressure loss is the difference between the average pressures of the specified cross sections.
