Example10 Sheet-Body Electrodes

General

  • Resonant analysis is performed for a piezoelectric bar. Electrodes are set with sheet body.

  • The results are compared with other electrode settings.
(The conditions below are applicable for sheet-body electrodes)

  • Unless specified in the list below, the default conditions will be applied.

Model

Electrodes are set on the top and bottom faces of a rectangular piezoelectric rod.

The “electric wall” boundary condition specified by voltage is set on them.

The electrodes are sheet body with body attribute name and material assigned.

Results

The displacement vectors at thickness-shear-mode vibration is shown below.

For comparison, the electrodes are changed to solid body and imprinting body.

The resulting frequency characteristics of impedance are compared. There is not much difference between the sheet body and the solid body.

The thickness of electrodes is taken into account in case of sheet body, whereas it is not in case of imprinting body. The calculation speed is much faster with sheet body than with solid body.
