Application93 Contact Analysis of Sliding Plate

【General】
A resin plate slides along the curved groove of a metal body.

【Analysis Model】
A symmetric quarter model is created.
A contact boundary condition is set to where the groove and the resin plate are expected to contact each other.
Translational displacement is applied to the tip of resin plate, which allows the plate reach to the plane of symmetry.

【Results】
Thickness of the resin plate is slightly thinner than the width of the groove. Partial and periodic contact is generated between the resin plate and the groove.
