Application102 Surface wave propagation

General:
Surface waves that are generated by interdigitated array electrodes on a piezoelectric body are analyzed.

Analysis Model:
Electrodes are periodically arranged on the upper left corner of the piezoelectric body. Lithium Tantalate (LiTa03), which is a piezoelectric material, is set to the body. AC voltage of 1 GHz is applied to the electrodes. Open boundaries are set on the bottom and right faces of the body for suppression of reflection waves.

Result:
Surface waves are generated at the electrodes that are periodically arranged, and propagate towards the right corner of the piezoelectric body.
The contour diagram shows the magnitude of displacement. The deformation diagram shows the adjusted deformation for better visualization.
