1. On the [Model] tab, go to
   
   
   
   and click [Subtract (Boolean)] .
   
   The [Subtract (Boolean)] dialog box will appear.
    

2. Boolean operations include the following:
   Unite: Bodies are united
   Subtract: Tool bodies are subtracted from target bodies
   Intersect: The common portion of bodies is extracted
   
   This session uses Subtract.

2. Highlight the top case (target body) on the modeling window and click to select.
    

• To reach the target body out of several overlapping bodies, press the <Space> key. Body selection will change. The left click will fix the selection.

3. In the [Subtract (Boolean)] dialog box, click and activate the list box for [Subtracting Bodies] .

4. Highlight the box in the hinge (subtracting body) while pressing the <Ctrl> key and click to select.

5. Click in the [Subtract (Boolean)] dialog box to exit.

• Deselect [Keep Target Bodies] and [Keep Subtracting Bodies].
